Veikkaus Smallest Present

Come Christmas time, the smallest present just might be the one with the biggest impact. With this idea in mind Paula Orre of TBWA\PHS contacted Piñata to create a simplistic picture for the campaign.

"Basically a picture like this is quite easy and straightforward to create.", says Timo Hämäläinen. "But the tricky part is that it is so subtle and up to the smallest details. With bows for example there's basically an infinite number of different shapes for it and you can make small adjustments for as long as you like if you really want to tweak it to the max."



Paula and Timo picked a reference for the shape of the bow from a number of candidates and Timo continued with building the basic setting in 3D. "Then we did quite a bit of corrections to the bow and the shape of the envelope too to get that desired effect." Tuomas Korpi then took care of retouching the image and added some of his famous Christmas glitter to steer crystal clear of the funeral mood lurking behind the corner with the black background.
