TBWA/PHS, Piñata and Framestore London teamed up to produce "Trip", energy drink ED's new one minute spot. Directed by Mikko Lehtinen the film follows a guy guided by a bottle of ED in a series of situations. The bottle forces the guy to make the right choices whether he is himself really alert enough or not.
The one minute film, a 45 second cut down and four 20 second spots were all shot in Los Angeles in 4k RED format and the final films made in full HD resolution. Piñata's post production work consisted mostly of wire removal as well as removing a larger pole used to control the bottle on the set. "The car wash scene was the most challenging of the wire removals since there was some moving steam in the shot", says Mika Rantala. "We did get good clean plates of all the shots, so we had all the building blocks needed for the post production work."
Rig Removal
In another one of the shots a moving tram needed some speeding up in the post. "There was also a camera movement and other moving vehicles in the shot and they of course had to continue moving naturally even after the correction.", says Mika. "I feel it all came out really nicely."
The final colour grading of the main film was done in Framestore London. Henri Tani later graded the four 20 second spots at Piñata according to Framestore's lead on the main film.
