When Art Director Kimmo Korhonen approached us with an idea about a pearl shoe for Itäkeskus we first thought about the usual choice of mixed techniques for creating the picture. Tuomas Korpi painted a rough sketch of our proposal and it was sent forward to the client. The marketing team at Itäkeskus really fell for Tuomas' initial sketch of the idea and wanted to have the same rough, painted texture in the finished illustration too.
"It was a bit unusual working on this one.", says Tuomas. "I pretty much tried not to change anything that was good about the first sketch, just more or less do the same work over again with a bit more consideration. The shoe was made more slender and some more tones and contrast added to the background, but I tried to work with as broad strokes as possible the whole way through."
